| Q:
Why should I use Clean&Safe® instead of canvas,
rosin paper, or plastic? |
| A: Clean&Safe® offers a combination of benefits not found with other surface protection products.
Its Absorbent, Skid resistant, Leak-proof, Reusable, Light-weight
properties offer all around protection, economy, and safety. |
| Q:
How can Clean&Safe® lower my labor cost? |
| A: Through its superior qualities Clean&Safe® helps save on expensive labor. Efficiencies resulting from its
lightness and flexibility make job site preparation easy and
fast: this equals less labor. By not having to tape
down Clean&Safe® you save
not only on tape but avoid the time to tape: this equals
less labor. Using this effective surface protection avoids
damage to surfaces that would otherwise require labor for clean
up and/or repair: this also equals less labor. |
|
| Q:
How can Clean&Safe® help me save money and
pay for itself? |
| A: First off, Clean&Safe® provides
superior protection for surfaces and workers. Thanks to its
leak-proof, skid resistant backing, slips and spills can be
avoided saving thousands of dollars in repairs or workman’s
comp expenses. Second, since it is reusable, the cost per application
is very low. Third, the ease of rolling out Clean&Safe® (which does not require taping) will save substantial labor
expense while still providing a safe work site. Finally, homeowners
recognize the professional approach to clean work habits and
are more likely to provide good references and word of mouth
recommendations leading to more business. |
| Q:
How long does Clean&Safe® last? |
| A: Clean&Safe® is very durable
and can be used over and over. Some customers have made it last
for over a year, while others use fresh Clean&Safe® for each job. To make it economical, the one-time users price
it into their quote and have it as a “leave behind”
for the customer to use to protect floors when moving furniture.
Makes for good customer service. |
| Q:
How long can you leave Clean&Safe® down? |
A: Clean&Safe® is safe for all existing surfaces for the duration of the
job. Since there is no adhesive on the backing, you do not
have to be concerned with residue transfer. If the floor
is continuing to dry and/or cure then it is best to use SurfacePro®, our breathable
surface protection.
|
| Q:
How can Clean&Safe® be used on stairs? |
A: Clean&Safe® works great
on stairs! Some contractors simply tuck Clean&Safe® on each tread as they go down the stairs while others tape
the edges with masking tape or painter’s tape. Others
secure Clean&Safe® by
stapling just under the lip of the stairs.
|
| Q:
How can Clean&Safe® be used on carpet? |
A: For low pile carpet use Clean&Safe® as a single layer with the fiber side up. For high pile
(plush) carpet: double Clean&Safe® with the plastic side on the inside so you have fibers on
top for absorbency and fibers on bottom to grip the carpet.
Once the job is complete, then separate the layers and continue
to use as a single layer.
|
| Q:
Do you need to tape it? |
A: Generally there is no need to tape Clean&Safe® . It lays flat on the floor and will not slip. For covering
wider areas, just join two or more sections of Clean&Safe® with an overlap of 3 to 5 inches to establish an overlapping
seam as the product will not slide on itself when weight
is applied. However, if you still prefer an absolute seal
you can tape the seam with masking tape, painter’s
tape, or duct tape. Both the masking and painter’s
tape can be removed from the fiber side of Clean&Safe® so that you can continue to use it as a runner.
|
| Q:
Can Clean&Safe® be used on surfaces other than
floors? |
A: YES! In addition to floors and staircases, Clean&Safe® can protect countertops, bathtubs, cabinets, furniture,
fixtures and many other items and areas. Clean&Safe® comes in a variety of sizes to meet your needs. We suggest
our 24" roll for countertops, the 32" for standard
stairwells and hallways, and the 40" and 48" rolls
are great to cover larger areas. It protects everything
from anything!
|

| Q:
When should I use Clean&Safe® vs. SurfacePro®? |
A: Clean&Safe® is suitable
(and less costly) for all surfaces that don’t need
to dry or cure. It is a great multi-purpose drop for when
you are seeking leak-proof protection. However, if you are
working in a humid, non-climate controlled site or have
a newly finished hardwood floor or stone/tile floors where
the grout is still curing, then you should be protected
with our breathable SurfacePro®.
It will allow the moisture to escape. In all other cases, Clean&Safe® will do the
job.
